      Great question, I don’t know is my answer though 🙂

      Some monkeys can be taught to use some sign language-so if they are able to recognise shapes and associate them with meaning they could read but I think the vocabulary would b really limited!

      Nope. I don’t believe that animals have a language in the same way we have a language. They don’t think with their own versions of words and use grammar to build meaning out of strings of words the way we do. So they wouldn’t be able to read.
