Stretch marks are scars caused by tearing of the middle layer of the skin. They happen in pregnancy due to the rapid growth of the baby stretching the skin on the abdomen.

Apaprently, 75% – 90% of women get stretch marks during pregnancy, but a lot of women would like to prevent them.

There is some evidence that applying moisturising creams like cocoa butter to the skin every day can prevent or reduce the appearance of stretch marks in SOME women, but not all.

      Thanks for the question 🙂
