This is a tricky one. When i first read it I had no idea how to answer this question, but then I came up with one! I guess I just used the knowledge I have (like, I know what the word ‘idea’ means, and I know our minds are rooted in our brains) as a starting point to come up with ways to answer your question. I don’t know, as with most parts of the body, it’s difficult to explain how our brains work sometimes!

The thing that I find interesting is that the brain is an organ, it’s something that (if you managed to get hold of one somehow) you can see and hold and prod, but all of these higher functions arise from it, all of these abstract thoughts that you can’t see or touch. Ideas count as one of these higher functions. I don’t know how they form. I imagine that psychologists have studied this, but I had a quick look on the net and couldn’t find much on it.

Something I did find was this sentence, which neatly sums up my thoughts on the matter: “Creativity and emotion are beautiful things that cannot always be explained in an analytical sense”. 🙂
