Air is a composition of all the gasses in the atmosphere which are trapped by the earths gravity. It’s made up of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide. The composition of the air varies depending on how far from the surface you go and since the gravity isn’t as strong further away, the pressure of the air isn’t as high, which is why mountain climbers describe “thinner air” at high altitudes. This lower pressures is a big danger for climbers as there is less oxygen in the atmosphere but is also why you ears pop on planes!!

Good answer from Judith, I’d probably go with the same definition 🙂
