      Hey,

This is a really good question.

Well, I guess all of the body is really interesting, so I could’ve chosen any organ/system and found a lot to study, but I am most interested in labour in women because I remember being really shocked when I first found out that after all these years and all the medical breakthroughs we’ve made, we STILL don’t know why babies are born at the end of 9 months.

I started reading about it (as part of my Masters degree), and the more I read the more interested I became.

I think all medical research is important if it’s going to help people stay healthy, but I think making sure that pregnant women give birth on time to healthy babies is particularly important, because the birth of a child should be a happy time for parents, and if babies are born healthy they’re more likely to grow up healthy.
