• Question: why is pluto no longer a planet? it was my favourite planet :(

      I know!! this is annoying to me too!!

      There is an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter that contains rocky lumps, some of which are far bigger than Pluto. There was a big debate on which things should be called planets, I think if they let Pluto be a planet then lots of other things should be classed as planets-so it’s a “dwarf planet” now!

      It was voted on by a few hundred astronomers at the International Astronomical Union in 2006, goodbye Pluto!
