Hmm, good question. I’m not entirely sure (I’m a medical researcher!) but I think it’s something to do with gravity… Gravity has the same force in all directions, so anything around the earth’s core will be pulled towards it to make a sphere shape.
As I say, I’m not entirely sure though, maybe one of the other scientists might have more of an idea?
It’s because of the gravity of the core-the densely packed centre is an attractive force to everything else
The earth isnt completely spherical though-it sort of bulges around the equator, this is because the spinning of the planet of its axes means there is more of a centrifugal force at the equator!!
